[MUSIC PLAYING] Spondylolisthesis simply means a shift between two vertebrae. Symptoms of spondylolisthesis frequently involve back pain. The back pain is typically well localized where the problem or the slip has occurred. If left untreated or unchecked and the spondylolisthesis happens to progress, the patient can ultimately end up with nerve impingement. Symptoms of the nerve impingement may also include pain radiating down a leg, weakness or numbness in the extremity. Treatment for Spondylolisthesis begins with physical therapy. Core training and a strong core are the first line of defense for progression of spondylolisthesis. Surgical options for treating of spondylolisthesis typically involve fusion surgery where the slip or the shift in the alignment is repaired and then surgically stabilized with rods and screws in a fusion type procedure to give you a permanent fix.
