Standing Chest Expansion Video

[MUSIC PLAYING] Hi. This is Sherri Stone from BioSpine Institute. Today we're going to learn how to do a yoga pose called Standing Chest Expansion. This helps stretch the shoulders, the arms, the chest, as well as the hamstrings. It can also help reverse those long hours sitting at the computer. To perform standing chest expansion, start with shoulder width apart-- feet shoulder width apart. Hands behind you preferably clasped like you're going to clap. Straighten the elbows as much as you possibly can. Slowly bend forward, keeping your arms above your head and stretch. You should feel a stretch in your hamstrings and your shoulders and in your chest. Hold this position for as long as possible and up to 1 minute. If this is painful, just don't go over as far. If your shoulders are too tight, try to just touch your hands in any way position that they can get that's comfortable.
Perform standing chest expansion to help keep those hamstrings stretched and to reverse the long hours of sitting.
