What causes a herniated disc? Why does a disc- all of a sudden – go rogure and invade other areas of the spine where it does not belong? Well, there are a variety reasons why someone may develop a herniated disc, or slipped disc, including degeneration, injury or both.

Herniated discs are a very common back condition. Most people will develop a slipped disc by the time they reach their 50s; however, not all discs cause trouble and may resolve on their own.
